Another year has come and gone! Glad to see 2020 in the rearview mirror. Good riddance! Now to a bigger and brighter future.
The year 2021 is now upon us. Yippee!!!
It's that time of the year again for some much-needed reflection and introspection to set the right tone for the new year!
Diversity in Cinema Academy has been busy coming up with new goals for 2021, and I wanted to share the biggest ones with you.
The first goal I have for 2021 is the relaunching and rebranding of Diversity in Cinema Academy—formerly known as Diversity in Cinema Film Group. I recognize the systemic challenges of oppressive industry structures that traditionally impede marginalized filmmakers and screenwriters' development. So, I made it my mission to challenge the status quo by providing the guidance, resources, and assistance that's needed for advancing the roles of multicultural content creators in contemporary filmed entertainment.
The second goal I have for 2021 is launching a YouTube channel. Content may be KING, but video content is definitely QUEEN. Diversity in Cinema Academy will continuously update its website and blog with educational content and articles; however, sometimes, an outstanding video tutorial is the best way to help communicate and solve our filmmaking problems. With video, it creates a level of familiarity where I can make a much more personal connection with our community of filmmakers and content creators.
The third goal I have for 2021 is launching an online filmmaking course. My primary mission for Diversity in Cinema Academy is to provide a cultural alternative to the commercial film-schooling experience. I know it's tough sometimes to muster up those helluva expensive college tuition fees. Plus, our 9-5 job is eating up all of our time. So, we're left trying to figure out how to squeeze in time to attend a class. That's why an online course is perfect for a filmpreneur. Get it done anytime, anywhere!
There's nothing like sharing your goals with your virtual friends to make sure we stay accountable and actually work towards completing our goals!
