As a filmpreneur, we must continuously imagine our business's creative aspects, but we must also clarify our business aspirations. A great way to do that is to create a vision board. Better yet, a DIGITAL vision board.
Creating a vision board can be an overwhelming task, even for the most creative and intentional entrepreneurs. These tips, steps, and examples will help you construct a meaningful digital vision board on Pinterest.
Before we jump in, let's first explore exactly-- What is a Vision Board?
A vision board is a visual illustration of your ideas, plans, aspirations, motivation, and wishes. It's a tool to help you visualize what you want in life— career, travel destinations, friendships, financial security, home, family, love, and health.
Usually, a vision board is a physical board, like a corkboard with a collage of printed pictures and power words. However, I wanted to make an updated version of a vision board for these digital times that you can take anywhere!
Since Pinterest is incredible and has hundreds of thousands of images and videos to pin from, it seemed to be the perfect tool to use.
You're probably like, that sounds cool and all, but—
What is the purpose of a Vision Board?
Plain and Simple… The Law of Attraction
The Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. If you place the vision board in a prominent location, you can visualize your hopes and dreams daily. The things you focus on most, will ignite you to achieve them with immense action.
If you are intentional in your efforts and committed to doing the hard work, you can create a digital vision board that summarizes your core ideals and provides a roadmap to your success.
HOW TO CREATE A DIGITAL VISION BOARD?
Don't focus on the things you want to fix or resolve in your life. Instead, focus on the items, experiences, people, places, and prosperity you want to attract into your life.
You can start by mapping out your most audacious content creation goals…
STEP 1: MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU WANT ON YOUR VISION BOARD
Here are a few questions to help you identify your vision:
If I could be, do, or have anything, what would it be? Think about all areas of your life and get specific.
What ultimate impact do I want to have on my life, community, filmmaking business, industry, or the world?
In what way will my content ultimately interact with customers, audiences, viewers, and clients?
What steps can I take to achieve success in creating content—films, short films, videos, scripts, etc.?
What power words motivate me to take action?
What do I need to learn, experience, or attain to achieve my goals?

STEP 2: SEARCH FOR PHOTOS & VIDEOS
Here are some examples of what to look for on Pinterest:
· Filmmaker Quotes
· Locations— where you would love to shoot
· Power Words
· Financial Freedom
· Film Industry – Career centered
· Content Creation
· Screenwriting
· Acting
· Filmmaking
· Role Models (business owners, influential leaders, directors, producers, actors, etc.)
· Recognition & Awards
· Favorite books (screenwriting, filmmaking, acting, or content creation)
· Favorite movies or songs that motivate you
STEP 3: CREATE IT
Now that you found the images and videos that fires you up— it should make you want to take action…
Pin them to your Digital Vision Board on Pinterest.
Click create pin
Title your board: Vision Board 2021 or Filmmaking Vision Board (some people have multiple vision boards, so name it whatever you like)
Upload an image of the cover pin
Add a description
Add alternate text
Add website URL or social media URL
Publish
You can also create your own content with Canva or Adobe Spark and pin it to your board.
STEP 4: ENVISION IT
This is the most essential step. If you don't take time to envision and feel your board's attributes, then all of your hard work would be for nothing. Take time to look at your images daily and allow them to inspire you for the day. Internalize those thoughts and feelings as they manifest in your mind. Feel what it is like to be successful, to earn freedom, to learn…
MANIFEST YOUR DREAMS!
STEP 5: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Since it is a digital board, not only do you always have it on Pinterest to refer back to, but your options are nearly endless.
If you created a Pinterest cover image on Canva for your vision board, upload it to your phone and use it as the wallpaper on your Android or iPhone.
You can also screenshot your Pinterest vision board and use it as your computer desktop's background.
Or, you can just go old school and print out the images you found and place them on that trusted corkboard.
It is critical that your vision board isn't relegated to a forgotten graveyard of hopes and dreams. You want to see your board daily. You want to feel and breathe it all in.
STEP 6: TAKE ACTION
First, visualize the desired outcome for your dreams and aspirations.
Second, take action towards achieving the outcome.
Lastly, embrace the change that you have manifested.
